“Genius is 1 percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration” - Thomas Edison
Most often, when we talk of creativity, we think of activities such as design, music, painting, architecture, sculpture etc. The reality is that creative thought, or creativity, is deployed regularly in such activities as science, medicine, law, management, and business development.
However, for those working in the creative professions, the need to be powerfully creative is right at the core of your professional activity, and a daily reality.
As a creative professional, your level of success depends upon the amount and quality of your creative output. It’s that simple. In the creative industry, there really is nothing to fall back on if you are not delivering at your creative peak.
The key to success therefore, lies in optimising the creative process itself.
This process includes how we deal with blocks or ruts, how we maintain our nerve, the risks we are prepared to take, and of course most importantly, how we ensure that we have a free flow of ideas as and when we need them, ideas that are of high quality and solve the problem.
The real question about creativity must be: “Can the creative process really be optimised?”
The answer, we feel, is yes.
