Objectives Macromedia's Multi-user Server software is a surprisingly simple yet effective solution for building web-based multi-user games, chat-rooms and other solutions. At the end of this course, you will have a solid grasp of the underlying concepts and the technical configuration required for a multi-user server. You will learn how to set up and administer your own Multi-User Server on a local machine, on a local area network and on a remote server. Finally you will build a simple chat-room application and a multi-user game in shockwave.
Requirements Good working knowledge of the director interface, timeline and behaviours. Lingo an advantage but not necessary for the course. Some knowledge of web servers helpful.
